What you'll do
An easy route suitable for any age and level of fitness, taking in the area around the Station. The tour starts in the centre of Canfranc-Estación, is private for you and your group, and lasts around 2 hours.
We walk along the Paseo de los Melancólicos and the nearby woods, through beautiful landscapes of native vegetation — beech, pine and acacia. With our expert local guide we unpack the history, the anecdotes, the legends and the quirks of a place conceived and built around the magnificent International Station of Canfranc.
We visit the "P" defensive Line and its bunkers. You will learn about the complex civil and forestry works that made the site of the Station safe and habitable, discover the fascinating history of Canfranc in relation to Europe and the Second World War, and finally hear what the "mysterious" Canfranc Underground Laboratory is for and why it is there (we cannot go inside, but we do reach its access tunnel).
It is a relaxed and genuinely interesting way to get to know the International Station of Canfranc and its surroundings. Don't miss it!
